How Discord Changed Gamer Communication
From TeamSpeak to Community Hubs
Launched in 2015, Discord revolutionized voice chat for gamers by replacing clunky TeamSpeak and Skype IP servers with free, encrypted WebRTC voice channels and always-on text servers.
Today, over 200 million monthly active users gather in Discord servers not just for gaming, but for study groups, developer communities, and friend hangouts.
